I was excited recently to feature in Issue 88 of Houses, one of Australia's most respected architecture publications.
My brief was to create a relaxed, comfortable and understated feel for my clients lifestyle needs while respecting the integrity of the architecture. The house was designed by Adrian Spence of Richards & Spence.
I let the architecture do the talking, and sought to blend design elements that sat comfortably and quietly within its surroundings.
It's important not to make a feature of everything - rather to create a unified theme through common elements that work together, accented by carefully selected focal points. This is something I think has been done successfully through the use of simple furnishings and original artworks.
I loved working on the project, and my clients were a joy to work with. The family of four - along with their pet poodle - are now enjoying what I think is a space that really suits their lifestyle needs.
